Main Street O'Fallon

Main Street O'Fallon's purpose is to promote and protect the special historic and social interests of downtown O'Fallon. The members work together to provide a mechanism to preserve the culture, social, economic, and architectural history, through civic pride, beauty, and stabilization of the vicinity in downtown.
The group has several goals including establishing a strong Main Street organization. Members develop a marketing strategy to improve the perception of downtown and promote the downtown district throughout O'Fallon. They also provide assistance to property owners and merchants to make informed choices in the improvement of the physical appearance and function of downtown. Main Street O'Fallon also provides technical assistance to business owners, managers, govemment officials, entrepreneurs, and developers on issues of community development that have an historical and economic impact on downtown O'Fallon. The Main Street O'Fallon volunteers have completed several projects this year. They removed diseased trees from the downtown shopping area, held the annual Downtown Cleanup Day, and sponsored Main Street Sweetheart Ball in February. In June, July and August, Main Street Nights featured entertainment, family fun and extended shopping hours. Beginning in July, a downtown Saturday Farmer's Market was held. There are approximately 50 members of O'Fallon Main Street. Business, family and individual memberships are available. For more information, call 624-4503.
