MidAmerica Airport News And History Online

MidAmerica St. Louis Airport, dedicated in November of 1997 and opened in May 1998, is located adjacent to Scott AFB in St. Clair County in Southern Illinois.   The Airport's facilities include a new 53,000 square foot passenger terminal and a six acre cargo ramp with adequate space for development of air cargo facilities. With its strategic location and Foreign Trade Zone status, MidAmerica Airport is hoped to be serving the world from its state of the art facilities very soon. MidAmerica Airport is situated on Interstate 64 for ease of access.   And the region's premiere light rail system, MetroLink, will be accessible through a covered skywalk, assuring quick transportation from MidAmerica Airport to downtown St. Louis about 24 miles away.
