BioFiltration Systems Inc. Wins Contract from MidAmerica Airport
Installation of its Patented Bioremediation System
SARASOTA, Fl -- Sept. 22, 2000 -- BioFiltration Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:BIFS) announced
today that it has received notification and confirmation from airport authorities at the
MidAmerica Airport in St.Claire County, Illinois awarding a contract for the installation
and operation of its patented anaerobic/aerobic remediation system for treating and
disposing of aircraft deicing and anti-icing fluids.
The contract provides for deployment of Biofiltration's high-tech environmental
cleanup system to handle and treat deicing fluids used by the airport as part of their
daily operations.
MidAmerica Airport is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art facility that is located
24 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. MidAmerica Airport was constructed to satisfy the
increasing demands of airlines and passengers and to relieve the congestion that has been
experienced over the years in this region of the country. MidAmerica Airport is designed
to handle passenger, cargo, general aviation and corporate aircraft. Construction was
completed in 1998.
MidAmerica Airport is one of the newest full service major airports in the United States
and features widely spaced runways and specifically engineered spent deicing fluid capture
systems that can significantly reduce delays caused by inclement weather. The installation
of Biofiltration's system is seen as a complementary addition to the overall capability
of the facility to provide service and handle deicing by-products in a cost-effective
manner.
